Department of Law and Finance

Within the Business School, the Department of Law and Finance reflects the School's established strengths in law, accounting and finance, economics and human resource management. New developments in legal education and the delivery of higher and degree apprenticeships have presented an opportunity to reposition the Department to meet the needs of graduates and employers both locally and regionally, as well as overseas where we deliver a number of courses with partner institutions. Our research is world leading in fields such as human rights and social justice, we continue to improve our league table position against our benchmark competitors and in 2016 our ground-breaking Refugees and Legal assistance project was shortlisted for a Times Higher Award. We are proud of our visible impact on local and regional communities, of our advanced and innovative legal portfolio and of our staff who are committed to delivering research informed teaching aimed at producing job ready graduates.

We are seeking an inspirational academic to take our law portfolio to the next level. You will develop and teach on a range of specialist and collaborative law courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level across our distributed campuses, and will work with colleagues both within and outside the Business School on our growing portfolio of teaching, enterprise and research activities.

With a PhD or equivalent experience in an appropriate subject area. Working with a team within the Department, your specialist knowledge and expertise will drive curriculum change and enhance our engagement with the legal profession and with businesses at local, regional and international level.
