Job Purpose

The post-holder will contribute to a project on modelling culture-specific dynamic social face signals for transference to social robots, working with Dr. Rachael Jack. Specifically, the job requires expert knowledge in psychophysics and reverse correlation techniques, MATLAB programming skills, dynamic social signalling of the face, cultural psychology, vision science, and designing human behavioural experiments. The post-holder will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project, as opportunities allow.Standard Terms & ConditionsSalary will be on the University’s Research and Teaching Grade, level 6, £28,098 - £31,604 per annum.This position is fixed term until 17 March 2018.New entrants to the University will be required to serve a probationary period of 6 months.The successful applicant will be eligible to join the Universities' Superannuation Scheme.
