The School of Humanities is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Journalism (part-time) to join the Media subject group from January 2018. The successful applicant will have relevant teaching and professional experience, with a track record in radio and/or mobile journalism and will contribute to the further development of our growing Journalism provision.
Main duties & responsibilities
The post-holder will be required to undertake teaching, assessment and module leadership on the Journalism programmes, undertake appropriate scholarly activities, facilitate curriculum development within the Journalism programmes, and carry out normal administrative and organisational duties commensurate with the post.
Skills and experience needed
The post holder will have substantial proven professional industry practice within a broadcast or multi-media environment (to include the last three years),relevant teaching experience at HE level, and the ability to teach undergraduate modules in areas including Online Journalism, Multiplatform Journalism and Radio.
Qualifications required
A good first degree in an appropriate subject will be a minimum requirement.
