IT Services is looking to appoint a full time, permanent 2nd Line IT Support to the Corporate Information Systems group within the University. This post provides a seamless service between the IT Helpdesk and 3rd line support colleagues to guide clients of varying IT literacy through problem investigation, to diagnosis and solution.
The Roles and Duties
The successful applicant will provide in depth support to the IT Helpdesk, resolving queries with a variety of clients across the University (academic and professional services staff as well as students).
Qualifications and Skills Required
The postholder will have strong all-round ICT skills including extensive experience of Windows, a knowledge of basic MS SQL query programming, knowledge of basic web programming (HTML, CSS) and experience of diagnosing software application problems. Excelling at team work, they will be confident communicators and be able to prioritise a complex workload. They will have excellent written and oral communication skills and to be able to act with discretion and maintain confidentiality at all times.
The posts will be located at the Colchester campus but travel to other the Southend or Loughton campus will be required.
