Registry Services
As Registry Services, we have overall responsibility for the student record, as well as the maintenance and continuous improvement of the systems that store it. We work with faculties and professional services departments to support processes relating to the entire student journey, from application to award and graduation, and act as a source of advice on how those processes can be improved through the use and development of our student systems.
The Role
Data quality is at the heart of the Data Services team and as Head of the service you will use your leadership skills to develop a high performing and motivated team focused on delivering a service of continuous improvement to the integrity of the data held within our student records system (SITS) and its use within the institution.
The successful candidate will need to be a strong communicator, who recognises data as an asset and will work with data owners and consumers to communicate and build a renewed understanding of our student data landscape. Their knowledge of statutory requirements will help the team with its obligations towards external returns such as HESA and HESES; additionally their interest and understanding of changes within the sector will help ensure the team and the wider institution is prepared.
The successful candidate will demonstrate role model behaviour and be an advocate of customer-focused service delivery. They will have an eye for talent which will support their ability to attract, train and develop the team to achieve best practice across all areas of responsibility.
As one of several teams within Registry Services, the appointee will play a key role in the ongoing development and enhancement of the student record system, delivering innovative solutions to improve processes and procedures for the positive benefit of students and staff alike. They will also represent the department and deputise for the Assistant Director when required.
As a University, we have many strengths; amongst staff and students there is a sense of common purpose and commitment to the nature of higher education we offer. This is a fantastic opportunity to further improve our service and ensure practices are leading within our field.
