We're looking for an excellent, experienced PA, with high levels of organisation and initiative, able to diplomatically liaise with senior contacts, navigate multiple competing deadlines, and apply judgement to help the leader of a dynamic and fast-paced team split over two offices to deliver her work with maximum impact and effectiveness.
Jill Duggan is the director of CISL's Policy team (www.cisl.cam.ac.uk), which works in support of securing a sustainable economy, by running a number of influential projects that include The Prince of Wales's Corporate Leaders Group (and the EU Green Growth Platform as well as a planned international expansion of the work. The team is split between Brussels and Cambridge and regularly organises events around Europe, as well as often participating in events around the world.
As its leader and senior representative Jill travels a lot and has regular communications with high-level contacts. CISL is recruiting a PA, to be based from our Cambridge head office to help Jill manage her travel and communications, so her time is used most effectively. The successful applicant will also be called upon to prepare papers and background research in support of Jill's work.
Applicants must be committed to the values that underpin CISL's work and will be expected to demonstrate the following essential skills and experience:
- Good initiative and ability to self-organise
- Excellent interpersonal skills, tact and discretion and the confidence to build relationships with senior leaders nationally and internationally
- Demonstrable high level of communication skills - both written and verbal
- Significant previous experience of working with senior executive in a commercial or public sector environment
- Experience and familiarity with using project management tools to deliver key projects
- Previous responsibility for complex calendar management and international travel planning
- Ability to manage a number of tasks effectively at the same time
- Accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to maintain this under pressure
- Numerate and able to manage a budget
- Capability to perform basic research and analysis and present clear and simple summaries of your findings
- Educated to at least degree level (or equivalent)
The following attributes are desirable:
- Relevant understanding of business or policy contexts, particularly in Europe
- Prince 2 or equivalent project management.
- Language skills, particularly European
The role is Cambridge based but may require occasional travel, including visits to Brussels.
