We are seeking an experienced medical educationalist to lead the development and delivery of clinical communication skills learning and assessment within the School of Medicine at Cardiff University. The School offers a 4, 5 and 6 year undergraduate medical degree (MB BCh), a BSc in Medical Pharmacology and an increasing range of intercalated degree programmes. We are one of the largest undergraduate medical schools in the UK with c1500 students. We are also one of the largest providers of medical taught postgraduate programmes in the UK with a wide variety of clinically relevant programmes studied by 1500 students per year.

This role is based within the Centre for Medical Education leading the delivery of clinical communication skills, primarily to our undergraduate medical students. The role holder will work closely with colleagues in the Clinical Skills and Simulation team, and in the NHS across Wales to ensure consistent delivery and continuous enhancement of communication skills learning across the MB BCh programme and clinical placements across Wales. The role holder will also work closely with the Assessment Team to ensure delivery or a robust and integrated programme of assessments of communication skills in practical assessments and work place based assessments.

We are looking for a clinician with significant teaching experience at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. You should have demonstrated your ability to design, deliver and continuously innovate communication/consultation skills teaching across undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching programmes.

Salary: £74,393 - £96,583 per annum (Clinical Scale)
