The University of Derby urgently requires (an) Associate Lecturer(s) to teach on two first-year modules between 18 September and 8 December:

  • To deliver seminar teaching on ‘Religion, Empire and Ideas: The Making of British Identity, 1485-1789’, which runs on Tuesday evenings, 5pm-9pm.
  • To deliver lectures and seminars/workshops on ‘Renaissance and Enlightenment: Europe, 1453-1789’, which runs on Fridays, 1pm-5pm.

This will also involve marking of assignments associate with these modules. The candidate will have an understanding of British and/or European history in the early modern period, including topics such as the Renaissance, the Reformation, Tudor and Stuart monarchies, the Enlightenment, and the French Revolution.

Depending on the applicant’s suitability and experience, we are aiming to recruit either one candidate to teach on both modules, or one candidate for each module.
