This is an opportunity for an ambitious individual wanting to develop a senior career in information governance within a large and diverse organisational setting. Based in Strategic Planning and Governance within Professional Services, we are looking for a colleague with significant professional expertise and experience of working in information governance at a senior level to join a small and busy team, while working with colleagues across the institution. The post holder will report to the Head of Governance Services, but will also work closely with the Director of Strategic Planning and Governance, while overseeing two Information Governance Officers.
Key responsibilities are: to provide professional leadership and management for the University’s arrangements for Data Protection (DP) and Freedom of Information (FOI), including complying with legislative requirements and delivering good practice; to lead the University’s ongoing work to achieve compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR); to act as the University Data Protection Officer (DPO); to shape the University’s frameworks for information and records management in support of compliance; and, to support the Head of Governance Services in overseeing the University’s compliance with the requirements of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).
