The Role

The Director’s Assistant plays a key role in supporting the work of the Director of Arts and Culture. This is a broad role which requires a high level of confidentiality and tact at all times, together with an excellent attention to detail.

As Director’s Assistant, you will be expected to provide senior administrative support including diary management, correspondence, telephone, diary, expenses claims, travel arrangements, arrange meetings (e.g. book venues, arrange catering) prepare agendas and papers, take minutes, circulate and follow up action points.

The role will support the Director in researching and writing of funding applications ensuring we meet all funding criteria and reporting requirements.

Act and make decisions on behalf of the Director at all levels as appropriate.

The post holder will be expected to work mainly at the University’s Canterbury campus but there will be occasions when working at Medway will be required.

The Person

Educated to GCSE or equivalent level to include Maths and English, you will also need to hold ECDL or an equivalent IT qualification.

Experience of working in an administrative or secretarial role where the need to remain confidential and discreet about matters is essential. You must have the ability to maintain and build good working relationships as well as being highly organised and able to prioritise your workload.
