This is a fixed term appointment for four years until July 2021 - Immediate start.

The London School of Economics and Political Science is looking for a Senior Public Affairs Advisor.

LSE has confirmed its position as a world-leading research university and its research spans the full breadth of the social sciences, from economics, politics and law to sociology, anthropology and finance. The School is re-evaluating its public affairs strategy in the light of significant political change affecting Higher Education. 

This role will develop and implement strategies that develop and strengthen LSE’s relationship with policymakers and opinion formers. The post holder will be responsible for formulating and delivering strategies to serve the School’s interests both in the promotion of academic expertise and in anticipating and responding to developments that affect LSE’s business and reputation. The post holder will be a point of contact for all public affairs matters, and will represent and advise the Director of Communications and Public Affairs.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record in a public affairs role within a professional environment, working closely with a large variety of stakeholders including senior management and leadership teams. They will have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate the development and implementation of a political and public engagement programme. They will also be able to demonstrate leadership in a pressurised environment as well as strong networking and team management skills.
