Detail information about job Professor/Head of the Department of Food Science & Agri-Food Supply Chain Management Department. Terms and conditions vacancy
Competitive salary
Harper Adams University is a highly-regarded Higher Education Institution that has a specific focus upon land, food, environment, and connected businesses. We are host to over a fifth of the UK’s undergraduate agricultural students. REF 2014 saw us deliver a significantly improved research performance and we have invested heavily in our estate and our global profile. We have recently been awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework and maintain an ambitious and focused outlook.
The Department has three principal functions which are: to provide high-quality education through the provision of undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses; to achieve research outputs through the activities of the department’s academic staff and the supervision of research degrees at masters and doctoral levels; and to provide knowledge exchange to the food industry, mainly through the provision of contract services, research, education, and training.
We are seeking to appoint an academically credible Professor/Head of Department, with managerial experience, to guide staff through the prevalent changes in UK Higher Education and deliver the Department’s contribution to the University and its strategy as a whole. They will provide research leadership whilst operating at the external interface, sustaining our relationships with industrial partners and other stakeholders. Allied to this is the requirement to ensure that our focus on the student experience and their changing expectations are reflected in our provision at all levels.
