An opportunity now exists for a talented academic with a strong track record of research, practice and teaching to join our expanding Architecture team. You will lead the Professional Practice delivery in the school and teach in the design studio. In addition you will contribute to teaching within other areas including technology, communications and theory. You should have experience of preparing and delivering high quality and design-led teaching and experience in teaching Professional Practice.

You will hold a PhD (or be near to completion) or equivalent research/practice based research experience (demonstrable through practice based outputs, publications, exhibitions). Experience in practice is usually demonstrated by registration on the UK Architects Registration Board (ARB) or an international equivalent with post-qualification experience. Experience in supervising masters/doctoral students is also desirable.

Accountable to the Associate Head of School (Architecture and Built Environment) and working closely with programme leaders, you will have strong communication and presentation skills and be expected to take part in curriculum development and course management as required. Key aspects of the role include delivery of teaching/lectures, module leadership, supervision of practical and theoretical study, personal tutoring, assessment and feedback, maintaining quality of delivery as well as organisation of educational field trips/visits, visiting lectures, student competitions and end of year shows as required.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining good working relationships with all stakeholders in the University as well as in industry, to ensure the overall aims of programmes are met. Being highly motivated and an excellent communicator you will actively contribute to aspects of a university academic position as well as contributing to external profile and recruitment events for Architecture.
