This is a unique opportunity for a research fellow to be involved in clinical research in infectious diseases in the exciting topics of Gram-negative colonisation/infection and antimicrobial resistance, as part of the ongoing Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care (CLAHRC) South London team. The CLAHRC is a research organisation funded by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) which aim is to improve NHS services by giving practical answers to research questions relevant in clinical practice and by implementing evidence-based research into clinical practice (http://www.clahrc-southlondon.nihr.ac.uk/what-is-nihr-clahrcsouth-london/what-is-nihr-clahrc-south-london). The main role of the post-holder is to be the clinical research fellow for the Infection stream within CLAHRC South London.
The post holder would be expected to have at least a year’s experience of working in implementation science or translational medicine and strong interest in infectious diseases, epidemiology, colonisation and infection by Gram-negative organisms, antimicrobial resistance and service delivery improvement. Good skills in computing and data management skills are desirable. The post holder will be based mainly at St George’s University of London (SGUL) but will work across the three centres where the research projects are being developed (St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, King’s College Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust – St Thomas’ site only).
The post is for 1 year and suitable for a Medicine graduate with experience in translational research or implementation science.
The salary for this position will be within the Clinical Academic pay range: £32,478 to £51,175, plus £2,162 London Allowance.
