This post is temporary for 2 years.

This exciting post forms part of the University’s Regional Learning Centres, its commitment to lifelong learning, increasing local provision in key locations and responsiveness to the needs of students and employers including creating clear pathways into HE. You will continue the task of developing HE and higher skills in Telford and Shropshire on behalf of the University and its partners and be responsible for the ongoing coordination and success of the University Centre Telford located on Level 3, Southwater One building, Telford.

The goal of University Centre Telford is to increase the profile of higher education in the area, particularly awareness of the University of Wolverhampton portfolio of programmes and services, and to deliver growth in HE students. Central to the development and core to this role is the establishment and maintenance of effective partnerships with key organisations including Telford College (TCAT) and Telford and Wrekin Council.

You will be responsible for the day to day running of the Centre, providing a responsive HE environment for new and ongoing students, their families and employers. You will work within the Centre for Lifelong Learning (CLL) and with Faculties and Centre partners to provide a high quality learning environment, innovative and responsive courses and outreach and engagement activities for new and existing HE and FE students. You will liaise with the Business Solutions and Growth Hub staff to provide or support their business support services. You will coordinate the delivery of a suite of local HE courses and modules in partnership with Telford College and Faculties and work with key University Corporate Service Departments such as Registry, External Relations and Directorate of Recruitment and Partnerships to ensure that smooth and seamless operations are maintained at all times. You will ensure that a co-ordinated Information, Advice and Guidance Service is offered to potential students and that this relates to the breadth of educational opportunities, career pathways and support for studying in HE.

Crucially you will be the public face of the University and the Centre and will work in conjunction with University Departments, Faculties and staff to promote the Centre’s activities locally through engagement and networking activities with stakeholders and key groups. You will coordinate the administration/reception services, manage staff and be responsible for monitoring, evaluation and reporting functions linked to the Centre’s performance. Some evening and weekend work will be required.

This post is fixed term for 2 years in the first instance, but it is envisaged that it will become permanent.
