We are looking for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Scientist to join the laboratory of Professor Iain Hagan to study the control of cell division by the Wee1 family kinase Myt1. The Wee1 inhibitor, AZD1775, is having striking impact upon some, but not all, pre-clinical models. The fact that AZD1775 is 100 times more potent as a Wee1 than Myt1 kinase inhibitor raises the possibility that the AZD1775 refractory cancers maybe protected by Myt1 kinase. This role is an exciting opportunity to develop and drive the project to characterise the basic biology of Myt1 kinase.
The successful applicant should have a PhD in Cell Biology or Biochemistry and a background in human tissue culture.
