BackgroundAn excellent opportunity has arisen for a full time Health and Safety Advisor to join a key support function at an exciting time for the University, with investment in new curricula, creation of an industry-led engineering, science and teaching hub, construction of new state-of the-art facilities and further development of external partnerships.
The RoleAs Health and Safety Advisor, you will provide professional advice and guidance on health and safety matters and promote the development of a positive safety culture within the University community. You will support the development and implementation of health and safety systems and policies, develop and deliver training for general safety and fire safety, perform audits and inspections, undertake risk assessments, report on health and safety matters to relevant personnel and committees and support the continual improvement of the University safety systems.
RequirementsYou will have substantial experience in a safety advisory role and it is essential that you hold professional qualifications (please refer to the job description for the full list). You will need to be a practical thinker, solution driven, with strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
