The Business School is seeking to appoint a L/SL in Business Enterprise and Innovation.

This is an opportunity for an experienced and dynamic academic to join the Business Management Subject Community, which is situated, within The Business School. Due to a growth in provision, including a new purpose built Business School in 2018, we are looking for an exceptional candidate to join a well-established team.

Ideally, we are looking for a candidate interested in making a strong contribution to teaching, research as well as our engagement with enterprise activities. To become part of our team you will be someone who can contribute to global teaching and work successfully with a range of students across our course portfolio. 

Apart from experience in teaching in Higher education, you will have:

  • Developed an original and productive research agenda, demonstrating the ability to publish in internationally ranked, peer reviewed journals

And

  • Provide evidence of income generation, impactful research, scholarship, or corporate engagement

We are particularly keen to receive applications from academics with experience in demand-driven curriculum development, and technology enabled learning.

Candidates must be able to contribute to the teaching in one or more of the following areas:

  • Entrepreneurship
  • Incubation
  • New Business Enterprise
  • Managing Innovation

If you have the drive and enthusiasm for your subject area we can give you the opportunities to be involved in teaching, doctoral supervision, research, and income generating activities.

 For senior lecturer, you should be able to contribute to teaching and course leadership across undergraduate and postgraduate courses and, ideally, have experience of research degree supervision and a publication record.  Such candidates would also be expected to take on a management role within the subject group such as contributing to academic development, REF submission, generating research income, engagement with related University Departments or generating Business Development income.

The main purpose of this role is to support the Business School Portfolio to ensure The Business School’s strategic aims are delivered through creative and innovative teaching and the development of external relationships. You should be able to demonstrate confidence in supporting a range of programmes, which will also include overseeing relationships with established overseas and regional partners. The successful candidate will be able to make and support key strategic decisions and build relationships both internally and externally for the benefit of the School. You will also be expected to lead and teach on a range of programmes and lead others on the development of innovative and challenging curricula that meet the current and future needs of students and employers.
