The School of Mathematics and Computer Science manages a well-established portfolio of Mathematics and technology-related courses covering such areas as Computer Science, Software Engineering and Information Systems as well as new specialism degrees in topics such as Data Science, Business Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Smart Technologies and Cybersecurity.
We are seeking candidates of the highest calibre, with the interest, motivation and experience to contribute to the development of innovative programmes of teaching, research and consultancy in the area of computer science with emphasis in games development and/or augmented reality. You must possess a PhD Degree in computer Science or a relevant subject.
Linking the curriculum to employability is a central concern of the School. You will be expected to support student employability and develop outlets for student work.
The School of Mathematics and Computer Science has a long standing tradition in setting up and successfully conducting Transnational Education (TNE) activities with many overseas partners. Hence you will be required to travel abroad to deliver on the School’s commitments as appropriate.
You will be expected to teach Computer Science at undergraduate and postgraduate level. You will have very good inter-personal skills, highly developed communication and organisational skills and a capability to motivate students.
The ability to conduct and supervise research and contribute towards appropriate external income initiatives is desirable.
