About the role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Acquisitions & Digitisation Specialist to join our growing organisation. Within this post you will play a key role in the effective delivery of Library and Learning Resources within GSM London. These include both physical and online resources such as campus libraries, print and electronic collections, learning tools and platforms, information skills support and academic liaison. This position will assist the Collection Development Librarian in the administration and delivery of services to support teaching, learning and research, including selection and acquisition of stock, digitisation and handling of digitised course readings in compliance with regulatory requirements and liaison with academic staff to ensure that appropriate information resources and effective information skills are delivered. The post is expected to work closely with other Library and Learning Resources staff, faculty members and other professional departments to ensure that services meet the needs of students and staff across the college.

What we’re looking for

To be successful, you will need to be postgraduate degree qualified in Library/Information Science or a related discipline or possess equivalent experience, and demonstrate experience within a similar role in an academic or specialised library service. You will possess superior customer service and communication skills, initiative and have the ability to be planned and organised in a busy environment. In addition you will be proficient in the use of library management systems and procurement platforms. Your experience in selection and acquisition of stock, processing of new materials, catalogue maintenance and digitisation/copyright practices will be highly regarded.
