Job Purpose
You will contribute to a project in the area of atomic layer deposition of dielectrics and atomic layer etching of GaN-based semiconductor layers working with Professor Iain Thayne. Specifically, the job requires expert knowledge in the use of plasma etching and atomic layer deposition for the realisation of GaN on silicon power electronic devices. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research publications and research proposals as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities allow.

Salary will be on the University’s Research and Teaching Grade, level 6, £28,098 - £31,604 per annum.This position has funding for up to 11 months in the first instance.New entrants to the University will be required to serve a probationary period of 6 months.The successful applicant will be eligible to join the Universities' Superannuation Scheme.
