Research Services at UCLan works with the academic community to enable world-class research environments that deliver world-leading research. The primary purpose of this role is to help ensure the University of Central Lancashire maximises its research impact for the next Research Excellence Framework (REF), the UKs periodic review of research quality. The post-holder will ensure the effective administration and appropriate use of the university’s research-impact evidence database, Vertigo Venture’s Impact Tracker. They will contribute to an enhanced understanding within the institution of funders’ impact policies and help raise the profile of the University of Central Lancashire’s research impacts externally. They will provide training, guidance and support in planning and evidencing research impact. The post-holder will work closely with academic and research staff, the Research Impact Manager, the Head of Research Services, Faculty Directors of Research and Innovation, REF Unit of Assessment Co-ordinators and REF impact case study authors.

The post holder will have experience of working in a higher education environment, preferably with experience of supporting academic research. The post holder should be educated to degree level or have equivalent experiential learning. They must demonstrate excellent written and interpersonal communication skills with particular attention to writing for different audiences.
