Applications are invited for the post of Research Facilitator, to support the research activities of the Mathematical Institute by processing the increasing number of research grant applications and reducing the administrative burden associated with the initiation and continuation of funded research projects.
Reporting to the Head of Research Facilitation, the post holder will be expected to process grant applications and to conduct in-depth reviews of a subset of these funding applications, working closely with applicants to ensure strategic fit with the funding call and assure the credibility of the case presented. He or she will also liaise with faculty members, other academic and University departments and funding bodies in the co-ordination of prospective and funded grants.
This is a permanent position and is available for an immediate start. If no suitable applicants are identified on Grade 7 an appointment at Grade 6 (£28,098 - £33,518 p.a.) with an appropriate adjustment in duties may be considered.
The successful candidate will have an excellent first degree numerate discipline, postgraduate or relevant experience of scientific writing, and experience of grant writing in a numerate discipline.
