The University of Notre Dame, a Catholic research university that ranks in the top 20 among American colleges and universities, operates an academic centre in the heart of Westminster to promote intellectual exchange through conferences, seminars and events, as well as its academic program for undergraduate students.
The University of Notre Dame’s London Undergraduate Program seeks lecturers able to teach the following course:
OPERATING SYSTEMSContact time: Approximately 3 hours per teaching week x 14 weeks.
Introduction to all aspects of modern operating systems. Topics include process structure and synchronization, interprocess communication, memory management, file systems, security, I/O, and distributed file systems.
This class forms part of the core curriculum for Computer Science students at the University of Notre Dame, and runs in parallel with the same courses on campus. Collaboration with the faculty members teaching the parallel courses will be expected.
Requirements: A Masters degree and university teaching experience in a relevant subject area are required for this position, PhD preferred. Candidates must already have right to work in the UK.
Teaching commitment: The class will meet twice a week for 14 teaching weeks between January and early May, on either a Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday pattern.
Dates for the Spring semester 2018: 15th January, to May 4th.
The salary for this position will be commensurate with level of academic experience, in the range of £3,800 to £5000.
