This role is responsible for the efficient management of a new state-of-the-art regional cryo-electron microscopy (Cryo-EM) facility hosted by the Leicester Institute of Structural and Chemical Biology (www.le.ac.uk/liscb). The Facility is based around a 300kV Titan Krios G3 Electron Microscope with K3 and Falcon III direct electron detectors.
In addition to the day-to-day running of the Facility the post holder will be responsible for interactions with local, regional and national partners to best promote the Facility. The post holder will also be involved in the development of strategy for the allocation of user time, user training and sustainability of the Facility.
This position is ideal for someone with extensive experience in cryo-electron microscopy and in managing an electron microscopy facility. You will have been involved in innovative research as well as having several quality publications in peer reviewed journals and a strong reputation in your research field.
The post is available at either Grade 8 or Grade 9 depending on level of experience.
