The School of Health and Social Care (HSC) is fundamental to meeting this vision by offering a range of courses from foundation degrees in all aspects of Health and Social Care through courses in health and social care, social welfare and social work to nursing (adult, child and mental health), midwifery, operating department practice, paramedic science. We support students through all stages of their career from undergraduate study, to continuing professional development, postgraduate and doctoral study, as well as through a range of workforce development modules and study days.

The school works closely with practice partners to prepare and develop highly skilled professionals to work in the social welfare and health care sector.

An opportunity has arisen in the School of Health and Social Care for new Lecturers [Full Time/Part Time] in Social Work within the Department of Social Work and Social Welfare.

You will join a team of Social Work and Social Welfare lecturers and be engaged in the design, development, delivery and assessment of all aspects of Social Work education. As an expanding area, we have new opportunities for lecturers to join the team in these exciting developments to teach across our undergraduate and post graduate cpd courses. You will possess a good undergraduate degree in the specialist area or a related subject and will need to be knowledgeable and skilled in the social work subject areas.  You will already have a PhD/doctorate or equivalent professional standing in a relevant subject area or clear commitment to complete a PhD within an agreed timeframe.

 You must enjoy teaching and assessing students and be committed to ensuring an excellent and supportive student experience. The courses are delivered on campus and by blended learning. You will also be expected to work flexibly and to contribute to delivering the general range of subjects and activities within Social Work and Social Welfare area and to contribute to the wider activities of the Department and School. The post will involve travel, some teaching is on a different campus, and the need for occasional weekend and evening work to oversee on line exams, and contribute to marketing and recruitment.  In return, we offer you a friendly working environment and one which actively supports your professional growth and development.

The post holder is required to be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and have relevant and recent practice and relevant teaching experience.
