Division of Brain Sciences

The Division of Brain Sciences is making a major investment in dementia research jointly with the UK Dementia Research Institute at Imperial, one of the six national centres of excellence established recently at UK universities to improve the diagnosis, treatment and care of people with dementias. This recruitment programme will be open to 26 January 2018.  Applications are open to clinical or non-clinical applicants and will be reviewed on an on-going basis.

We are interested to hear from dynamic academics committed to exploring transformative approaches to dementia research in a highly multi-disciplinary environment.  We are looking for outstanding scientists coming from other disciplines, as well as those previously involved in dementia research. Internationally recognized excellence in epidemiology, materials, engineering and data science base in Imperial College offers special opportunities for interdisciplinary science in these areas. Successful appointees will be expected to enhance the reputation of the Department in the field of dementia research through the development of research programmes, contributing to effective teaching and training, and supporting the good governance of the Division. More generally, the post-holder will be expected to inspire collaboration within the Division and enhance its intellectual community.

Suitably qualified candidates will be considered for generous, long-term research support awards within the UK Dementia Research Institute as UK DRI Professors or Fellows. Lecturer appointees will have demonstrated their ability to produce independent research in Dementia and have developed the skills to take an active role in research supervision. Salary range: £46,970 to £58,420 pa.
