Anton Bruckner Private University for Music, Drama and Dance in Linz, Austria, is currently seeking a qualified candidate proficient in the artistic field as well as in field-related arts-based research.
Expertise and skills sought:
- Solid practice/teaching experience in teaching dance techniques including ballet and contemporary dance (with both students and professionals)
- Extensive experience in teaching up-to-date methodological approaches developed in detail
- Ample knowledge in the teaching of dance techniques as well as in the fields of anatomy, physiology and training theory, somatics and psychology
- The ability to creatively develop different methodologies and teaching formats in dance classes especially in relation to academic research for the Bachelor and Master programmes
- Competence in providing dance technique lessons for all levels at the Institute for Dance (BA and MA)
- Active participation in the academic discourse in regard to dance, especially with regard to the relevance of theory in practice
- Significant development of dance science studies and research in cooperation with international dance institutions
Requirements:
- Long-term experience in teaching practice in various professional fields (Teaching Languages: German and English)
- Performance experience as a dancer / choreographer in the international dance scene
- Outstanding pedagogical skills in teaching dance techniques
- Access to international networks, particularly for the development of scientific research approaches
- Ability to reflect on one’s own experiences and active interest in developing research
- Participation in organizational, structuring responsibilities and further development of curricula
- Openness for teamwork and team teaching
- Teaching experience at university/college level
- Relevant Master's degree preferred
Regular presence at the Anton Bruckner Private University and participation in the academic administration are considered part of the job requirement.
