The Dubowitz Neuromuscular Centre at Gt Ormond Street Hospital and UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health follows a large number of children affected by a variety of neuromuscular disorders and is a leading international centre for the research, management and therapy of childhood neuromuscular disorders.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the research team, support the on-going clinical trials and provide expert support to Senior Scientific staff in a clinical trials environment.

The post holder will be expected to collate and manage regulatory documentation to ensure the team is conducting research in accordance with UK regulations and local guidance. This varied and challenging post will involve among other tasks, preparation of ethics and R&D submissions, dissemination of information about studies.

This post is available for 19 months in the first instance.

Applicants must have a first science degree or equivalent relevant vocational experience. Applicants must have significant experience in clinical trials work, preferably in a clinical trials centre or similar, and an understanding of clinical trial methodology. A comprehensive understanding of UK Clinical Trials Regulations, ICH Good Clinical Practise, the Europeans Directives on Clinical Trials and Good Clinical Practice and the Department of Health's Research Governance Framework is essential, as is a familiarity with the regulatory processes in the UK required for authorising, conducting and terminating biomedical research.
