Working in the School of Energy, Construction and Environment, you will be committed to contributing to our continued success in Emergency and Disaster Management teaching and research. We encourage all staff to maintain links with the professional sector to maintain currency and drive research and commercial activity.

You will join a School with high levels of teaching quality and student satisfaction and show a commitment to enhancing our research activities through "Excellence with Impact". Teaching is an important part of this role, Emergency and Disaster management at Coventry delivers undergraduate; postgraduate and CPD course across a range of aligned disciplines and welcomes applicants with expertise in any of the following areas:

  • Risk and risk management;
  • Preparedness planning,
  • Emergency and disaster response
  • Crisis management & organisational resilience;
  • Capacity building through emergency training and exercising;
  • Security
  • Public safety
  • Community resilience

We would like candidates to be able to contribute to some of these current strengths. It would also be beneficial if you could contribute to research methods teaching and research project supervision. You will be expected to support teaching and field work across undergraduate and postgraduate levels and work closely with colleagues in the delivery of current and new modules as well as act as a personal tutor.

The candidate should be qualified to Postgraduate level (MSc minimum). Record of publication or the potential for high quality output is desired.
