The Research Department of Behavioural Science and Health is seeking to appoint a Research Associate to contribute to a project exploring psychological responses to lung cancer screening. The work will involve analysing and writing up qualitative and quantitative data from lung screening participants and developing an on-line training module for health professionals.
Opportunities to job share this post are available. The post is available from 1st January 2018 until 31 December 2018 in the first instance, and is funded by the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation.
Applicants should have an excellent academic record with a first degree in psychology or a related discipline and a PhD or equivalent research experience in health psychology or related field. Experience of both qualitative and quantitative analysis and writing peer-reviewed publications is essential, as is knowledge of lung cancer screening and an interest in applying research findings to the health context.
Appointment at Grade 7 is dependent upon having been awarded a PhD. If this is not the case, initial appointment will be at Research Assistant Grade 6B (salary £29,809- £31,432 per annum inclusive of London Allowance) with payment at Grade 7 being backdated to the date of final submission of the PhD thesis.
