Detail information about job Planning Officer - Strategic Planning. Terms and conditions vacancy

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career through involvement in major areas of strategic planning across the University of Oxford. You will gain experience in four main areas, as follows:

  • Supporting the annual academic and services planning and budgeting round, including analysing submissions and data, writing summary reports, and developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor performance against the University Strategic Plan.
  • Co-ordinating the annual student number planning process, including the collection and review of student number plans from academic divisions, the Department for Continuing Education, and the colleges.
  • Data management and analysis, including managing access to data provided by HEFCE and HESA, updating the University’s Organisational Structure, providing analysis and briefing to understand Oxford’s position in national and international league tables, and data visualisation.
  • Committee servicing, including acting as secretary to the Budget Subcommittee of the Planning and Resource Allocation Committee (PRAC).
  • You will draw on and develop strong numeracy skills and the ability to work with large and complex datasets. You will also need to write clearly, preparing reports that analyse issues and propose solutions. You will work closely with academic and administrative staff in divisions, departments and the wider University.  While this collaborative approach will be a key feature of your role, you will also be required to work independently, taking forward initiatives and projects and exercising sound judgement. Training and support will be provided to enable you to fulfil this role.

Only applications received before 12.00 midday on Monday 11 September 2017 will be considered. Interviews are anticipated to be held in the week commencing Monday 25 September 2017.
