This post represents an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join Keele University’s School of Chemical and Physical Sciences. The School is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Forensic and Analytical Science, the post will be available from October 2017. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and thriving Forensic Science section, which has been ranked by the Complete University Guide as 1st in the UK, and has ambitious plans for further growth. Within the School there is an excellent teaching infrastructure, and a strong commitment and track record in providing high quality educational programmes. In addition to our strong teaching commitment, this role also represents an excellent opportunity to develop an individual’s research profile. Over the past few years there has been significant investment in our research infrastructure including state of the art analytical equipment and research space.

This post is designed to strengthen the analytical science aspects of the Forensic Science programmes and to build on the research in this area. The appointed person will have a PhD in in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Forensic Science, or a closely related subject, and will ideally have experience working in an analytical/forensic laboratory environment, preferably in drug related analyses, but other areas will also be considered. You will be expected to support both the Forensic Science undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including delivering taught sessions and managing project/laboratory work. Individuals must have a strong commitment to research and will be expected to demonstrate an ability to carry out high quality independent research and to develop an externally funded, internationally competitive research programme that will complement and enhance our existing research profile in forensic/analytical science.
