The University of Warwick Science Park Ltd is one of Europe’s leading Science Parks involved in the start-up and development of knowledge based businesses. Minerva is its nationally recognised Angel Network that has been operating since 1993 with over £8.5m of investments made since 2010.
Following the retirement of the previous Head the Science Park is now looking for a person to build on its enviable success and develop the network recognising the opportunities presented by the University, LEP, WMCA and Midland Engine amongst others.
The role is made up of two key elements. Firstly, curating propositions from companies to ensure they are of a quality and appropriate technology for the investor groups. Secondly, ensuring the investor groups are run in an engaging style with a flow of new active investors.
Therefore, applicants should be able to demonstrate proven skills in leading similar networks, an in-depth understanding of funding challenges for early stage/small businesses and a thorough knowledge of Access to Finance combined with the gravitas to effectively manage investors/HNIs.
If you have a background in early stage business investing, whether through banking, investment, or as a successful serial entrepreneur and you are looking to use those skills to do something a little different and of value to the innovation led small business community, then this role could be for you.
