Detail information about job Research Associate. Terms and conditions vacancy

There are two or more post-doctoral positions available at the quantum group lead by Prof. Elham Kashefi at the school of Informatics, University of Edinburgh. The positions would be part of the collaborative program between University of Edinburgh, the UK Networked Quantum Information Technologies Hub and the Paris Center for Quantum Computing at UPMC. The global vision of the program is the development of real-world applications for emerging quantum devices. In the core layer we address the key challenge of certifying, verifying, monitoring and benchmarking distributed quantum computation processing beyond the classical regime. This will provide us the crucial interface between our target Applications (in secure multiparty protocols such as voting, blockchain, and cloud computing) and Implementations (purpose-built scalable hardware).

Candidates must have a strong background and track record in quantum information, quantum computation or quantum/classical cryptography and hold (or be near completion of) a PhD in physics, computer science or mathematics. An interest in working in an interdisciplinary and collaborative environment and a willingness to travel for collaboration between project partners is essential.
