What you’ll do

We are looking for an individual to oversee assessment support services for University programmes as directed by the Senior Assistant Registrar (Operations). You will be required to manage the co-ordination of overseas and distance learning assessments as well as responding to tutor, student and general requests for information. Committed to service excellence and appropriately reflective in your work you will seek to enhance academic support services provision for University students and teaching staff. You will provide advice on matters of University assessment regulation and compliance for University staff and students. You will co-ordinate the operational activities and work of the Overseas Assessment Office. You will be expected to develop an appreciation of higher education sector good practice and to relate this to your day-to-day work, maintaining appropriate professional body memberships e.g. AUA, HEA.

Role requirements

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a professional academic support setting to deliver student and staff support services, preferably in an Academic Registry or Quality Assurance setting, within a university or professional education context. In addition, you will have Knowledge of the QAA Code and experience of applying the Code in your day-to-day work.

With a high level of analytical and problem solving skills, you will have the ability to understand and interpret academic programme structures and assessment requirements and apply academic regulations within your day-to-day work.

With excellent written and oral communication skills, you will have experience of writing letters and reports for varied audiences in a professional context. You will also be a confident and able presenter in meetings and formal presentations
