This is an exceptional opportunity to join the University of Manchester’s leading activities in Machine Learning (ML) and Data Science. The University is investing heavily for the future, with focus on areas of national importance such as health, security, smart cities, robotics, and data-intensive sciences like physics, astronomy and biology. The School of Computer Science is investing for growth in core ML, as the enabling activity for these and in other academic areas. You will contribute to our international portfolio of research in ML, informed by real-world applications, and be willing to engage across discipline boundaries to apply your work. Applications are welcomed from any branch of ML and Data Science, though we particularly welcome applications from researchers in health data analytics and security issues for data science/ML.

A 1-page description of your vision and future research plans, with indication of how you will secure funding for research and with whom you might collaborate, both inside/outside the University.
A brief statement on teaching, listing technical areas to which you could contribute, at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level, highlighting experience and indicating the teaching methods that you think would be appropriate.
