The salary will be paid at Grade 4, £23,619 to £26,537 annum, plus £2,623 per annum London Allowance depending on qualifications
This post will be Fixed Term Contract for 2 years
This is a Full-time position
The post-holder will act as a research administrator, under the supervision of two senior academic staff members, to help support activities and studies in palliative care and rehabilitation in older people. Current and forthcoming projects include:
- A study developing and evaluating the feasibility of using a toolkit to improve communication and assessment for older people admitted to a community hospital to reduce anxiety and distress for them and their families (SPACEtoolkit).
- A feasibility evaluation of short-term integrated palliative and supportive care for older people in community settings (OPTCare Elderly).
- A study using goal setting in hospice rehabilitation services to understand the needs of patients’ and their families in order to improve the quality of rehabilitation practice (GAS study).
- A clinical trial into nutritional support, exercise and anti-inflammatory medication to maintain muscle mass and physical activity levels in people with advanced cancer during palliative chemotherapy (MENAC trial).
The role will also involve supporting various activities within the Department, as directed by the Institute Business Manager, such as facilitating the department’s Open Seminar & Lecture Series, Palliative care Outcome Scale (POS) training workshops and the Cicely Saunders Annual Lecture, and conference.
The selection process will include competency based questions, an assessment and a panel interview.
