Tsinghua University’s Advanced Innovation Center for Structural Biology was formally established in October 2015 with the support of Beijing Municipal Government. The Center aims to develop new methods and technologies related to structural biology, and with a world-class cryo-EM facility, it aspires to innovate and make Beijing the birthplace for several relevant key technologies. Through several technological breakthroughs in recent years, cryo-EM has become one of the most popular technologies in structural biology. This technology’s development has enabled us to observe internal structure of living entities on a nanoscale and even atomic scale. It also provides important technical support in understanding basic principles of cell structure, relationship between health and disease, and drug research & development. Structural Biology technology (cryo-EM for example) combines features of several traditional disciplines such as computers, electronics, physics, mathematics, biology, and others, in order to meet research and development needs. Job Responsibilities:

Develop protein expression system.

Routine maintenance of relevant equipment and facilities for protein expression, purification, and identification.

Technical services for protein expression and purification systems.

Record equipment operational conditions, measure service workload, and other information.

Technical training and daily management of instruments and equipment.

Complete other related work assigned by Department Head.

Application Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or doctorate degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, structural biology, and other related fields.

Should be able to independently complete molecular cloning; background in structural biology is an advantage.

Applicants with adequate work experience in protein identification and protein interaction research will be preferred.

Should have work experience in cell culture and eukaryotic expression systems (mammalian cell and insect cell).

Applicants with work experience in protein folding and protein expression system development will be preferred.

Should have excellent communication and intrapersonal skills, learning ability, and should be highly motivated.
