We are seeking applications for a position of Professor (full-time, permanent) and Head of School (concurrent fixed-term appointment of three years) with the School of Information Management. A Head of School is the equivalent to a Department Head/Head of Department. The successful candidate will be a member of the Faculty Management Team and be expected to contribute to the strategic development of the Victoria Business School.

The appointee must be a leading and active researcher in their field and be committed to providing dynamic high-level leadership in the School and in the wider community. The successful candidate will have evidence of excellent quality teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, have strong communication skills, be well connected into the international community of researchers in the field. The appointee will also be capable of establishing strong links with the industry in New Zealand and abroad. A major element will be the extent to which candidates can contribute to building the international reputation of the School.

The School is highly dynamic, bringing together academics at the cutting-edge of their field. Building on these skills, the appointee will have the ability to provide a vision for the School's future, to provide academic and research leadership, and to effectively manage its people, resources, teaching and research programmes. The role also requires the ability to mentor staff, contribute to and build the School's research culture, represent the School within and outside of the University and the general management of the School.

Exceptional candidates at the Associate Professor level could be considered.
