You will undertake an active and internationally significant research role working within the Department of Psychological Sciences and support the already thriving translation of research to impact agenda of the Critical and Major Incident Group. You should have experience of conducting high quality research in forensic and investigative/applied psychology as it pertains to emergency services, law enforcement and/or military and a proven track record of independent research that has the potential to be internationally excellent in terms of originality, significance and rigour. You will be expected to supervise research at graduate and postgraduate level, have relevant teaching experience and some evidence of scientific leadership at a national level. You should have a good first degree in psychology or a psychology major, or related social/behavioural/biomedical science and a PhD in an area relevant to forensic/investigative/applied psychology. The three keys areas we are looking to attract within are (i) interviewing and interrogation; (ii) child sexual exploitation or (iii) decision making and leadership.
