Detail information about job Postdoctoral Research Fellow. Terms and conditions vacancy

The Mathematics Group at Aston University is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated postdoctoral research fellow to work on the cross-disciplinary and multi-team EU-funded research project ,“iMETland: A new generation of Microbial Electrochemical Wetland for effective decentralized wastewater treatment systems”,  see also http://imetland.eu.

Aston University’s role in the consortium is to focus on the prediction and modelling of biological reactions of studied wetlands, and so the ideal candidate would have a PhD in mathematics, computer science, chemistry or related area with a proven track record in time series analysis or modelling of microbial electrochemistry. Data will be provided by other partners in the consortium and travelling to consortium meetings and interacting and communicating with all the project partners will be essential.

The ideal candidate should be able to analyse and interpret the results of own research and generate original ideas based on the outcomes, as well as having experience and proven track record in time-series analysis or modelling of microbial electrochemistry and technologies. In addition good computational, organisational and team-working skills are required.

Furthermore, we are looking for an individual who is able to communicate results effectively to the relevant scientific community in spoken and written media. It is expected that the appointee contributes to the research environment of the Non-linearity and Complexity Research Group and the Institute of System Analytics of the School of Engineering and Applied Science. Experience in large collaborative and cross-disciplinary projects is desirable.

You must also be holder of a PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, Chemistry or a related degree.
