An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Programme Management Office (PMO) for an experienced Assistant Project Manager looking to develop their career. The main objective of the role within the Project Management Team in the Programme Management Office (PMO) of Enterprise Department is to provide day-to-day project support to the team’s Project Managers (PMs) looking after a portfolio of projects, including but not limited to European Union (EU) funded projects as well as commercial projects. The post-holder will also contribute to the development of proposals and commercial tenders, leading on monitoring national and international funding bodies and leading communications and dissemination activities across projects, including social media. The role includes leading on event management for projects’ workshops, conferences, and outreach events.
The Programme Management Office (PMO) is an integral part of Imperial’s Enterprise Department, which provides commercial and business management services to support the award and delivery of funded programmes and projects. The work of Enterprise directly underpins Imperial’s mission, thereby supporting the development of new or enhanced research, education and/or translation capabilities across all faculties of the university and on behalf of Imperial’s academic community. The Programme Management Office has a specific focus on managing funded programmes and projects. This includes EU funded projects (and bids), commercial projects and a number of high-profile international projects.
The post holder will be required to provide close management support for projects and work alongside other members of the project management team to provide an efficient project management service, including project delivery as well as the development of proposals and supporting bid management activities. The role will include interfacing with key academic staff, supporting contracts and administrative staff as well as representatives from client/customer organisations. The post-holder will lead and coordinate (pre-award) as well as coordinate event management across the team.
