The Careers Service provides information, advice and guidance to current students and Imperial College alumni to enable them to make informed career choices. The Service works with all year groups both undergraduate and postgraduate and has close links with academic departments and employers. As part of our efforts to ensure Imperial College students maintain an edge in their employability and career planning we promote, manage and evaluate in-course and extracurricular placement learning for both undergraduates and post graduates.
Reporting to the Employer Liaison Manager the Placement & Internship Advisers will assist in marketing the College and its students to employers and providing an effective programme of activities and events to allow employers to promote their opportunities to students. The Placement & Internship Advisers will work closely with departments, students and placement providers. They will take a lead role in helping to prepare students, aiding the selection process, as well as monitoring and evaluating benefits and outcomes of placement learning.
The successful candidates will be self-motivated and be able to multi-task in a busy, changing office environment. They will be committed to excellence in customer care and will ideally have experience in a student facing or graduate recruitment setting. With experience of Microsoft Office, website editing/updating and social media, the successful candidates will be able to communicate effectively in writing, by email, telephone and in person. They will be excellent team players able to work with tact and diplomacy to develop effective relationships and be committed to equal opportunities.
Experience of recruitment and selection processes, advice, guidance or training, customer service, data handling and administration would be advantageous.
