Salary: Research Assistant £26,829 - £28,452 Research Associate £29,301 - £31,076

Please be advised that due to a new minimum salary threshold of £30,000 per annum imposed by the UKVI, this post may not qualify for University sponsorship under Tier 2 of the points based system.

The Institute of Health & Society seek to recruit a Research Assistant/Associate with an interest in applied health research, who will deliver across two NIHR funded projects, HTA and HS&DR.  In one of the studies you will assess the feasibility of a trial comparing surgical fixation with initial non-operative management in patients with relatively stable thoracolumbar fractures. In the other, you will focus on cost-effectiveness of deploying GPs in the Emergency Department.

You will have an MPH/MSc/MA in public health, health sciences, health services research, epidemiology, social science or research experience showing equivalent knowledge by significant contribution to several research projects. A Phd is essential for appointment at Associate level.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to present at conferences and meetings with a good publication record.

The post is available from 1st October 2017 and tenable until 30th September 2019.
