Salary: Research Fellow: Salary Level 5 – range £32,094 to £35,773 per annum (with additional performance related pay up to £44,716 per annum)
Senior Research Fellow: Salary Level 6 – range £41,770 to £46,560 per annum (with additional performance related pay up to £58,200 per annum)

The Centre for Simulation and Analytics covers a wide variety of topics encompassing Modelling and Simulation, Operational Analysis and Operational Research, Wargaming and Combat Modelling, Logistics Modelling, Weapon Assessment, Mathematical Techniques, Systems Analysis, Statistical Analysis and Intelligent Systems.
The Centre now has a need to expand its operational and systems analysis activities with the creation of a new research and consultancy post.
Main responsibilities include:
- Undertake research and consultancy projects including methodology development, implementation, analysis, writing reports and delivering presentations
- Teach courses and advise students within own subject area, predominantly through lectures
- Pursue research personally and/or as part of a team and present the findings in high impact publications and conference proceedings
You will have a post graduate education eg MSc/MEng in Defence Analysis related topic. You must have significant defence and operational analysis and/or systems analysis research and consultancy experience either from industrial/military or academic exposure, experience of International research projects and collaboration and of military/defence systems. You must have knowledge of Simulation, operational analysis and /or systems analysis techniques and methods and their application. Knowledge of UK MoD funding and project support including FLC decision making and capability audits is essential as is direct expertise and knowledge of funding sources for defence analysis such as CDE, FATS, ASC, DHCSTC and Dstl funding methods.
