Company

Prescient is a specialty biopharmaceutical product strategy consultancy with offices in London, New York, San Francisco, Delhi and Beijing. Prescient enhances the value of our clients’ products, making sure they resonate with customers and stand out from the competition. In New Product Planning, we help our clients shape clinical development strategies in advance of Phase III investment decisions, ensuring their registrational data are robust. Brand Planning helps clients transform products into valuable brands that resonate within the market and are differentiated from the competition. Mature Brand Planning helps optimise the value proposition of clients’ mature brands before and after loss of exclusivity, ensuring their societal and financial contributions are maximised.

Prescient has an opening for a Project Manager in Oncology to be based in our London office.

The position offers a rare opportunity to be mentored by seasoned industry professionals within Prescient, and to be exposed to senior-level decision makers within the pharmaceutical industry. Prescient operates a merit-based culture that offers the opportunity to develop and progress quickly.

Candidate

The candidate should have thorough knowledge of oncology and should be able to demonstrate in-depth expertise in the development, regulatory affairs or commercial aspects of oncology therapeutics globally, especially in the EU and US. The candidate should have experience managing teams and projects.

The ideal candidate will be a high-energy, results-oriented individual with a creative and analytical mind who has the ability to manage and coordinate complex consultancy engagements through strong client and people management, subject-matter expertise, communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to draw conclusions and recommendations from a variety of pieces of evidence. He or she must also be able to operate effectively as part of a global team.

Responsibilities

As a project manager, the successful candidate’s primary focus will be on:

Project Management: The three-dimensional management of client engagements including design, planning, client management, people management, evidence collection, analysis and reporting

Client Management: Collaboration with other members of the project and account teams to ensure the client experiences best-in-class customer service and that projects are run in a proactive, communicative and efficient manner

Secondary Data Analytics: The sourcing, analysis and reporting of public-domain information, be it scientific, clinical, commercial, corporate or market

Evidence Generation: The collection of market, competitor and stakeholder evidence through desk-based interviewing and elicitation

Analysis and Reporting: Collaboration with other members of the project team to analyse findings, develop conclusions and recommendations and create client presentations that deliver a linear evidence-based story on the topics in focus

Conference Attendance: The coverage of key conferences with the objectives of interacting with a wide range of experts and delegates and attending key symposia, presentations, posters and booths

The successful candidate will play an integral role in executing consultancy engagements commissioned by Prescient’s clients. This will be achieved through the effective and efficient management of all aspects of projects.

The project manager will spend 80% of his or her time in the London office but will be required to undertake international travel for client visits, conference attendance and interoffice visits.

Desired Skills and Experience

At least five years of relevant oncology experience gained from working within the healthcare analytics sector (i.e., CRO, equity research, M&A, finance), consultancy or the pharmaceutical industry is essential. Knowledge of immuno-oncology or immunotherapy will be an advantage and a working knowledge of the clinical development and regulatory processes is required.

The preferred candidate will have a PhD or MSc in oncology, an MBA and/or a higher degree in a relevant life sciences area.

Reward, Benefits & Culture

As well as a competitive salary, the candidate will have access to a generous benefits package, including enhanced pension contributions; a buying-and-selling holiday scheme; long-service holiday award; life assurance; private medical insurance (upon completion of probationary period).

The offices are bright, airy and newly refurbished in January 2017, featuring state of the art equipment, including a fresh coffee machine for staff to use freely. There are also regular social events organised by the social committee.

The offices also have excellent transport links, located within a ten-minute walk from Ealing Broadway station (central and district lines, plus overground railway links directly to Paddington Station in 11 minutes).
