The salary will be paid at Grade 7 £40,523 - £48,327 or Grade 8, £49,772 - £57,674 per annum, plus £2,923 per annum London Allowance.

This post will be open-ended.

This is a full time post, although candidates needing to work part-time would be considered.

The successful candidate will join the Social, Genetic and Developmental Psychiatry Centre (SGDP) and play a key role in developing and executing research to understand developmental mechanisms of risk and resilience for neurodevelopmental and psychiatric disorders across the lifespan. The post holder will be expected to perform independent research applying methodologies or approaches that complement the interdisciplinary mix in this vibrant research Centre. These might include, but are certainly not limited to, expertise in developmental psychology/psychopathology, cognitive neuroscience and neuroimaging, epidemiology, lifespan approaches, computational psychiatry, digital phenotyping, statistical genetics, and the integration of large datasets of administrative and biomarker data. The successful candidate will have at least an interest in, and ideally experience of, undertaking interdisciplinary research, including the use of genetically informative designs. S/he will establish a research programme as principal investigator attracting external funding, as well as collaborating with other research groups within this friendly and supportive Centre.

Education and training of the next generation of scientists is an important priority at the SGDP, and the post holder will also be expected to contribute to teaching and lead new educational initiatives, with appropriate support.
