The Roles and DutiesEssex Pathways at the University of Essex wishes to recruit a fixed-term, part-time teacher in EAP and Academic Skills. The person appointed will be required to teach EAP and Academic Skills to foundation and undergraduate students taking the course as a preparation for undergraduate studies. The teacher will also be responsible for ensuring that relevant learning aims and outcomes are met by the students by adhering to the set syllabi and to ensure that students are prepared for Year 1 study.
Qualifications and SkillsThe successful candidate will have a Post-initiate teaching qualification (TEFL-Q) e.g. Cambridge DELTA, Trinity Dip. TESOL; PGCE TEFL. A TESOL-related MA will also be accepted as TEFL-Q training (if the programme of study undertaken has been designed for experienced teachers and incorporates assessed teaching practice). It is also essential that the candidate has experience of teaching English language and study skills. At the University of Essex internationalism is central to who we are and what we do.
