The Powertrain & Vehicle Research Centre (PVRC) of the University of Bath is seeking to appoint a full-time Teaching Fellow on a fixed term basis to make a significant contribution to pedagogic research and teaching capacity in Mechanical Engineering. The successful applicant will have a PhD, or experience gained through extensive industrial or professional practice, in automotive engineering, or in a related subject area with postdoctoral experience in mechanical engineering, and some experience in supporting undergraduate teaching.
Based within the Department of Mechanical Engineering, PVRC is a leading centre for theoretical, experimental and analytical research into powertrain systems in the UK. PVRC has an excellent track record in delivering industry-relevant projects, and has long established collaborations with industrial partners. The Centre considers its remit to be all of the links in the chain from energy storage to its conversion into mechanical work on board a vehicle.
The post holder will be expected to teach in a variety of automotive engineering topics at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The Teaching Fellow will also contribute to the development of the undergraduate curriculum and design of a new master’s programme.
You would be joining a group of colleagues who are enthusiastic in teaching and student development, who engage with industry and other stakeholders to generate collaborative research projects and shape the future of powertrain and vehicle research.
